TextAllure Blog is the how-to side of TextAllure, a site people have used for years to find the right words for a birthday, a good morning or a hard day. This blog covers the practical part of dating: turning on Facebook Dating, finding people who actually live near you, messaging without freezing, and staying safe while you do it.
How we write
- Answer first. Every guide opens with the shortest correct path, then the detail.
- Phone first. Facebook Dating only exists in the phone app, so every step is written for a phone.
- Checked, and dated. Each guide says when its facts were last checked against Meta’s newsroom and the Facebook Help Center. Menus change; we re-check and update rather than leave old paths up.
- No hype, no fake stories. We do not promise matches, we do not invent testimonials, and we do not link to random “singles” groups.
Who writes it
Guides are written by Sam Carter, the same pen name behind our Facebook help guides on fbPassport. Sam uses the apps described here and re-checks every menu path before a guide is published or updated.
Independence
TextAllure Blog is supported by advertising (Google AdSense). Ads never decide what we cover or what we recommend. We are not affiliated with Meta, Facebook, Match Group, Bumble or any dating service. Read our editorial and fact-check policy.

Use the “Report a problem” link at the bottom of any page, or the thumbs under each guide. Reports go straight to the editor and are checked against the live app before we change anything.
